Cosmetics
Capes, 3D cosmetics and name tags change how other Breeze players see you. They never change the game itself.
What there is
- Capes
- Drawn where a Minecraft cape goes. Some are animated. Breeze adds a gentle wave to capes as you move.
- 3D cosmetics
- Small 3D models attached to your player. Each fits one slot: hat, wings, back, shield, pet, aura or trail. You can wear one per slot.
- Tags
- A short tag beside your name. Breeze team members and creators also show a role badge, which only Breeze can give.
Cosmetics are made by Breeze creators, who earn a share of every sale.
Who can see them
Cosmetics are drawn by the Breeze mod, so only players who use Breeze see them. Everyone else sees your normal Minecraft skin, and your normal Minecraft cape if you have one. This is the same for every client that has its own cosmetics: nothing about your player changes on the server's side, so cosmetics do not give you any advantage in play.
When you change what you wear, your own game shows it straight away. Other Breeze players see it within about 15 seconds, the next time their game checks.
Getting cosmetics
- The launcher's Store. Prices are in Wind Charges, your Breeze balance; 64 Wind Charges cost 1 US dollar, topped up with PayPal. See Store.
- Free items in the store cost nothing. Free capes can also be claimed on this website's store page when you are signed in.
- Gifts from a friend, through the launcher's Gifts page.
Cosmetics belong to your Microsoft account, so they follow you to any computer where you sign in to Breeze.
Equipping in the launcher
Open Style. It shows a 3D preview of your skin with everything you are wearing. From there you can:
- equip or remove a cape;
- equip or remove a 3D cosmetic, and adjust where it sits on your player;
- choose the tag shown beside your name.
The Wardrobe in game
Open the Breeze menu with Right Shift and go to the Wardrobe. It has three tabs: Capes, Tags and 3D, and lists only what you own. Choose an item to put it on; choose it again, or Remove, to take it off. The change is saved to your account, so the launcher shows it too.
If the Wardrobe is empty while you know you own items, check you are signed in to the launcher with the same Microsoft account that bought them.
Your own cape image: the Custom Cape module
The Custom Cape module shows a cape image of your own when you have no Breeze cape equipped. Put a PNG cape texture in the standard Minecraft cape layout (64 by 32 pixels) in the breeze_capes folder inside the version folder, then turn the module on. The module also adds the cape wave.
A custom cape is only drawn on your own screen. Other players, with or without Breeze, do not see it.
If a cosmetic does not show
- The other player must be using Breeze. Without it they see your normal skin.
- Wait 15 seconds after a change for other players to see it.
- Make sure the item is equipped: the Style page and the Wardrobe show what you wear.
- A cape from Minecraft itself, such as a Minecon cape, is drawn by Minecraft and is not managed by Breeze.
